Open Hand is proud to host Catalyst Kitchen's SE Regional Summit! This two day experience provides a unique opportunity to explore the connections between food, health, workforce development, hunger relief, social enterprise, and community impact—and to learn from people approaching that work from very different perspectives.
Open Hand joined the Catalyst Kitchen network in 2024 with the launch of the Stephen Woods Culinary Workforce Development Program. Catalyst Kitchen is a member network of culinary workforce development programs that spans the entire country. They aim to successfully launch students into their careers by managing their past trauma including incarceration, a lack of work history and a distrust of others. It is not a handout, it is a hand up, and this requires a lot of hard work from students. Catalyst Kitchen programs, including Open Hand's own workforce development program, provide a safe space for students to try, fail and try again.
