Why Should I Join a Workshop?

Our workshops are designed to help you provide better care to your patients and clients while giving the most up-to-date nutrition data to drive your decision making. Our team is comprised of experts with years of experience in the Food is Medicine space, and Open Hand is an accredited Food is Medicine Coalition agency.

After the class, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the link between diet and the development of chronic diseases related to the presented topic
  • Develop the skills to provide personalized dietary recommendations and education to patients/clients for the management of the presented topic
  • Recognize the role of specific nutrients, food groups, and dietary patterns in either increasing or decreasing risk

If you have questions, you can email Kristen Avera, MS, RDN, LD, CDCES, Nutrition Services Manager, or call 404-981-6533.

Our Next Class is October 30th from 1:00-3:00pm!

Class will be held in Open Hand's Teaching Kitchen, located on our campus at 1380 West Marietta Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. After the class, we will provide a tour of Open Hand, where we cook, package, and deliver 5,000 medically tailored meals a day.

This event will be held in conjunction with our Georgia Food is Medicine Summit on Friday, October 31st, although you do not need to be registered to the Summit to attend.
